Rifle River Folkstrings

Rifle River Folkstrings

Rifle River Folkstrings is a community-based ensemble that formed in 1995. At that time, the group began meeting regularly for informal jam sessions at the Northeast Art Center. The band is still going strong today. They perform traditional music reflecting America’s musical roots, using mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, banjo, guitar,  percussion and voice.

The group performs upon request at nursing homes, for civic organizations, at the Northeast Art Center, and annually at the Tawas Point Celebration Days sponsored by the Friends of Tawas Point State Park. Rifle River Folkstrings events at NEMAC will not be scheduled until further notice.
